Tax Audit Solutions was eager to try out a new marketing style and chose the increasingly popular whiteboard animation, which has become a go-to for many businesses looking to create engaging explainer videos.

However, the biggest challenge was figuring out how to use an arm and hand to draw the images, utilizing masks and additional hands to perform tricks like pushing up words and wiping large images off the screen.

After experimenting, the team at Tax Audit Solutions was pleased with the results and we worked together to create a storyboard. Once the storyboard was finalized, we got to work on the animation. We started by sketching the drawings on paper and then cleaning them up with black pen before scanning and touching them up in Photoshop. The final animation was a combination of After Effects and Vegas Pro.

Next, we worked on the voiceover script, cutting some lines to fit within the animation’s one-minute time limit. We did a few takes of the voiceover with the video editor’s own voice. We discovered that energetic, emotionally-infused intonation worked best.
